Admissions Requirements.

Our 16-month ABSN program, with three start dates per year, makes earning a nursing degree on an accelerated timeline accessible to qualified students.

To become eligible for admission into our program, you must:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree or have at least 60 non-nursing credits from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Have a minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA across all prior institutions.
  • Complete prerequisites within our specified grade requirements.*
  • Pass the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) V exam with a score of 65 percent or higher within one year of application.**
*Students with prerequisite courses in progress will receive provisional admission into the program, subject to their successful completion of remaining prerequisites taken at Averett University.
**Students may re-take the TEAS V exam up to two times within a 12-month period at their own expense.

Accessible Prerequisites.

Yet another layer of accessibility for your accelerated nursing education — a majority of the prerequisites for our program are available 100% online through Averett University on the same learning management system as the one used for our ABSN nursing theory courses. Not only are they guaranteed to transfer, you gain familiarity with the ABSN online learning environment before you begin the program.
